I am a first-time candidate for Mount Dora City Council — though I have spent a lifetime in public service:

  • I flew 150 missions during Vietnam as a B-52 pilot/aircraft commander
  • I served 19 years as judge advocate, and was a military judge
  • I retired as a Colonel after 28 years in the Air Force
  • Then, I served 9 years as a Florida assistant state attorney/prosecutor

In Mount Dora I continue my commitment to life-long service to my community:

  • I am a trustee for the Firefighters Pension Fund
  • I am a member of Community Redevelopment Advisory Committee (CRA), working to protect the unique character of our downtown
  • I am an active member of the Mount Dora Lawn Bowling Club
  • I am the current President of Lake Dora Villas Condo Association (across from the lighthouse)

Your vote is important! Your City Council makes meaningful decisions which impact our safety, our community, our taxes, fees and services.

Council members should be elected based upon experience, education, and accomplishments, not just on talk or showing up for meetings.

I have an undergraduate degree in political science from Mississippi State University, and a law degree from The University of Mississippi.

I have been a decision maker in significant positions of responsibility using my education and experience for my entire adult life, making critical decisions as a B-52 pilot flying combat missions, as a staff judge advocate and military judge, as a Florida assistant state attorney/prosecutor. I have a solid track record and a steady hand.

I would appreciate your vote. It's easy to Vote by Mail! Click here to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot, or call the Elections Office at (352) 343-9734.

Your vote counts: several recent Mount Dora elections were decided by a single vote.
